Indianapolis is welcoming a new hub for tennis players of all ages and skill levels. The USTA Midwest Tennis Center officially opens June 15, 2026, inviting players from beginners to seasoned competitors to enjoy year-round tennis programming and wellness opportunities.
Located inside Sam Schmidt’s Driven NeuroRecovery Center at 1300 E. 96th Street, this state-of-the-art facility offers more than excellent indoor courts. It also creates a community-focused environment where players can connect, learn and grow through the sport of tennis.
Tennis for Everyone, No Membership Required
Whether families are looking to introduce a child to tennis, find a new family activity or sharpen their own game, the USTA Midwest Tennis Center makes tennis accessible and enjoyable. Unlike many traditional clubs, this is a no-membership facility. Players can book a court or sign up for a program.
Chad Docktor, CEO of USTA Midwest, says it best: “The facility is really going to be open for everyone. Anyone who wants to play tennis can play here.”
Programs for Kids, Juniors and Adults
The center offers a wide range of youth programs designed to match kids’ age and skill levels. Beginners can get started with Tennis 101 classes or join a Summer Day Camp, where foundational skills and confidence-building are the focus. Competitive juniors will benefit from the USTA progressive pathway, carefully structured to prepare players for match play and success on the court.
Adults aren’t forgotten either. There are adult clinics, Cardio Tennis sessions and social events to keep players moving and engaged year-round. The center is also a USTA Coaching Education Center, supporting those who want to become certified tennis coaches.
Inclusive Tennis Opportunities
One standout feature of the USTA Midwest Tennis Center is its commitment to inclusion. Alongside standard junior and adult programs, the center offers adaptive and wheelchair tennis events, creating opportunities for players of all social, intellectual and physical abilities to enjoy the game in a welcoming environment.
Visit and Play
The facility welcomes players daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., making it easier to fit tennis into busy family schedules. Whether families are picking up a racquet for the first time or looking to elevate their game, the USTA Midwest Tennis Center is here to help players play, connect and thrive.
